New York City Marathon Training By Numbers

By now the pain in my hamstrings and calves has mostly subsided. I’m looking forward to my next run. But I have not stopped thinking about the glory of running the marathon and the work that went into it.

Here’s my dailymile mileage chart:

Many Blue Miles

Total miles: 492
Fastest mile: 7:05
Longest run: 21m
Number of laps around Central Park: too many to count, but probably somewhere around 25?
Number of bridges crossed: Brooklyn x 3 each way, Manhattan x2 each way.
Number of running shoes: just 1! Nike Lunarglides. Due for replacement now.
Favorite running path: West Side Highway / Battery Park actually beats out Central Park for me at the moment.
Number of NPR shows listened to: 15?
Sets of headphones: 3. Sweat kills.

Any surprises in there? Any other stats you want to see?
